Joyner Gets Late Model Stock Opportunity

Flyin’ Ryan To Pilot A LMSC In The Upcoming CARS Tour Event At South Boston Speedway

After a decade of racing karts all across the United States, with multiple championships and endless knowledge gained during the years of making a name for himself among the karting world, Ryan Joyner took another step in his driving career in 2021 when he climbed behind the wheel of a Limited Sportsman series car and competed among multiple regular season events at the historic South Boston Speedway, located on the outskirts of South Boston Virginia.  Ryan proved to be a fast learner, as he was constantly among the top of the scoring sheet in practice, started on the front row in several events and finished in the runner-up spot multiple times. Additionally, with only a handful of starts under his belt, Ryan proved that he was not to be taken for granted as he captured the pole award during one of the events.

With such talent for quickly gaining knowledge and experience, coupled with an extraordinary resume already written from his karting career, it shouldn’t be a surprise that others are paying attention.  Fortunately for Ryan, that notice has come from legendary Late Model Stock Car driver and team owner Justin Johnson.  The Johnson team has been among the racing community for many years with experience spread across the Carolinas and Virginia.  Having a keen eye for talented up-and-coming drivers and some of the best resources in the business, Johnson has the ability to merge these drivers and resources together to create an opportunity of a lifetime for certain individuals.

During a chance encounter at an event at the South Boston Speedway, the paths of Justin Johnson and Ryan Joyner crossed.  Joyner was shocked to find that Johnson already knew who “Flyin’ Ryan” was.  “He already knew my name.  He had attended several of the karting events that I ran in years past and I never knew anything about that” said Joyner.  This meeting has proven to be very beneficial for Joyner, as having Johnson as a mentor among the circle-track playing field is tremendous.  “I’ve learned so much from Justin.  He doesn’t mind any question that I have” says Joyner.  Now, Joyner will have the opportunity to prove himself once again, as Flyin’ Ryan will sit behind the wheel of one of the Justin Johnson Racing driver development Late Model Stock Cars for a single race event.

The CARS Late Model Stock Car tour will visit the South Boston Speedway for the Aaron’s 125, an event that will push Joyner beyond anything that he has experienced before and test his patience among some of the best drivers in the region, all while granting him an opportunity to showcase his existing and potential talent among the sport.  “We are really excited and honored to have this opportunity” says Wayne Joyner, father of Ryan.  However, such an opportunity doesn’t come without sacrifice. “It’s not a free ride by any means” says Wayne Joyner. “We still have to cover a large part of the expenses to get Ryan behind the wheel, but I just can’t let this opportunity pass by for him. I’ve got to make it work.”  The Joyner’s will receive assistance from their existing primary sponsor among their Limited Sportsman events, KW Locksmith, but there will be additional funding needed to fulfill this journey.  Anyone that is interested in supporting this opportunity for Ryan and helping see this dream become a reality can reach out to Wayne Joyner for details.  All supporting sponsors will be included among the graphics that will cover the car during this high-profile event.
