South Boston Speedway – August 21, 2021
After another strong qualifying run, Ryan started on the front row once again in the Limited Sportsman 50 lap event. At the drop of the green flag, Ryan jumped into the lead and looked strong, pulling away to a two car-length advantage. The lead disappeared as a lap 10 caution bunched the field back up. For the restart Ryan jumped back out front and continued to lead laps but was once again forced to slow for a lap 19 caution. As the race restarted, Ryan held onto the top spot and led the way through lap 23 when he finally relinquished the lead as he began to fight a loose condition in the car. Continuing to fight an ever-loosening situation as the laps counted down, Ryan fought hard to keep the other drivers behind him, but eventually fell outside of the top five to end the night in the sixth position.
Flyin’ Ryan returns to South Boston again on September 4th for the final Limited Sportsman regular season event at this venue where he hopes to cap off a stellar rookie season with a win.
